Born in Fes, in the small town of Ain Chekef—where my grandmother helped my mother bring me into the world—and raised in the vibrant rhythms of Casablanca, Morocco, my paintings capture the unseen struggles and quiet power of women. Through texture, color, and layered symbolism, each piece reflects my Moroccan heritage and life’s quiet transformations.

🌀 My Journey: Discovering Art Through Life’s Twists

I grew up in a conservative Muslim family where community was everything and girls played with girls, boys with boys. Those early bonds taught me resilience, even as family changes—like my parents’ divorce—tested my adaptability. Raised to rely on family, I learned to depend on myself when the world felt unpredictable, growing by listening to others’ stories and turning differences into wisdom.

Art became my outlet for emotions I often kept inside. When silence began affecting my health, creativity became my release—whether through painting, writing, or even a quiet scream into a pillow. That honesty and vulnerability now flow through every canvas I touch.

🎨 Professionally

I graduated as a receptionist in tourism and hospitality, with no formal art training. Life shifted in 2014 when I moved to the United States with my husband, PJ. As a housewife in Poughkeepsie, New York, I finally had time to explore creativity.

It started simply—like a child with crayons. PJ gifted me kids’ watercolors, and I began experimenting with colors. Then, during a family trip to Florida, my father-in-law introduced me to acrylics in small tubes. That spark changed everything. From that moment, I dove into self-teaching—starting with family silhouette portraits and kids’ room décor.

My breakthrough came with my first big sale, The Call—inspired by Persephone’s mythic journey. It captured a woman’s inner world in soft pinks and floral textures. That milestone led to local showcases, steady online sales, and a growing audience for my work.

💫 My Artistic Process: Texture, Emotion & Self-Discovery

I learn as I go, embracing techniques that bring art beyond the flat surface. One day in a mall, I saw sculptural flowers bursting off a canvas—and I fell in love. Now I experiment with alcohol ink for fluid dreams, resin for glossy depth, gel for subtle layers, and impasto for bold, touchable strokes.

These materials transform canvases into emotional landscapes you can feel—mirroring the layered strength and sensitivity of women’s lives.

A fun fact? My paintings often “create themselves.” As I work, colors blend, forms emerge, and I’m often amazed by the beauty that unfolds—like a quiet conversation with the canvas.
