Eternal Hold” | Original Mixed Media Painting | Mental Health Awareness
This original mixed media artwork was born from a deeply personal journey through grief and loss. It’s a pain many people carry silently. Yet they rarely feel safe enough to speak about it.
The Imagery
At its heart, a mournful angelic figure gazes tenderly downward. She cradles the luminous spirit of a child. This is a quiet moment, suspended between sorrow and unconditional love.
It’s also a tribute. The bonds we share never truly break, even when the ones we love are no longer in our arms.
The Materials
Rich burgundy and deep crimson contrast against soft, blooming peonies and roses. Meanwhile, sculpted impasto paste and air foam clay bring the wings and florals to breathtaking dimension. As a result, these textures aren’t just something you see — they’re something you feel.
I also accented the piece with genuine gold leaf, in the tradition of Kintsugi: the Japanese art of repairing what is broken with gold. In other words, this piece is a reminder. Our deepest wounds don’t diminish us. Instead, they make us luminous.
“For every heart that has loved quietly, grieved silently, and carried a loss the world could not always see — this piece is for you.”
A Gift of Healing
I donated this original artwork in honor of Mental Health Awareness, with love.
