A woman turned away, her face hidden beneath a crown of hand-sculpted peonies in champagne and gold — as if her identity is rooted in what she carries rather than what she shows. Behind her, a radiant zellige medallion glows in pearl and silver, echoing the geometric soul of Moroccan architecture. Silver wheat stalks rise at her sides, grounding the piece in themes of heritage, abundance, and quiet strength. Her garment, richly textured in oxblood and gold filigree, carries traces of traditional Moroccan embroidery — a nod to the kaftans worn by generations before her.
Built up in layers of impasto paste, molding paste, and gold leaf, this piece exists somewhere between painting and relief sculpture. Every petal, thread, and tile is raised by hand — meant to be seen in changing light, where shadows shift the piece throughout the day.
